　　报告人简介：  

　　Richard Lawford’s’s work explores the linkages between Earth observations of water and climate, data processing and visualization systems, information interpretation and the use of information in decision support and policy development. His specific areas of application involve climate and hydrological information, water resource management and capacity building.  He worked in a number of positions, including research management scientist in Canadian government (Environment Canada, Ministry of State for Science and Technology) , Director of the International GEWEX (Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment) project, Director of the Water Cycle Program office for the US Climate Change Science Program, NOAA Program Manager for the GEWEX Americas Prediction Project and the GEWEX Continental Scale International Project (GCIP). Now he is actively leading GEOSS (The Global Earth Observation System of Systems) Water strategy from observations to decisions.  

　　In this Talk Prof. Lawford will provide an overview of the GEOSS Water Strategy with specific reference to applications in the Water-Energy Food Nexus, the Sustainable Development Goals and the Sustainable Water Future Programme.
