CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS

· Airborne laser scanning and fine resolution digital terrain modelling

· DEM-based approximation of climatic and bioclimatic surfaces

· Digital image processing, digital photogrammetric production, and wavelet transformation based image fusion algorithm

· Methods for wildlife habitat characterisation and predictive mapping

· Methods for mapping and monitoring the changing spatial patterns of natural resources, carrying capacity, site suitability, and various forms of land degradation, through integrated analysis of key biophysical and socio-economic datasets

· Integrating statistical and spatial analysis in GIS-based applications

· Methods for predicting and mapping soil properties using GIS based environmental correlation techniques that use remotely sensed and DEM derived variables

· Distributed environmental and hydrological modelling

· Optimising digital geospatial data properties (resolution, scale, categorisation, quality / accuracy / confidence interval, structure, etc.) and handling methods (representation, measurement, organisation, manipulation, analysis, visualisation, etc.)

· Digital geospatial data collection/processing tools and techniques

· Assessing the accuracy of digital geospatial information
